Introductory CoursE

If you would like to be added to the 2024 list, please follow the link below and complete the forms with your full contact details. This course is for absolute novices with no prior experience of beekeeping. We meet for 10 evening sessions on Thursday at the Nailsea Community Centre, BS48 2DS, from mid January to early April. The course fee is £120 which covers printed materials and the follow-up, hands-on, practical sessions in the club apiary in Langford. Often beginners will set up their first hive in the club apiary to benefit from expert assistance during their first season. Improvers' CoursE
If you have been keeping bees for a season or more then this is an excellent way of sharing your experience while expanding your knowledge and understanding. We meet for 7 sessions on every other Tuesday in St Andrews Church Hall in Backwell. It’s fun as well. At the end of the course you will have the opportunity of taking the BBKA Basic Assessment which acts as a gateway to further assessments. However there are some who just take the course to gain further understanding about the craft of beekeeping. The fee, payable at the first session is £20 which includes course materials.
